About The Clinic

The body's own capacity to heal itself is often underestimated. Natural health therapies aim to encourage self-healing processes, thereby allowing the body to achieve optimum good health and wellbeing. This is our primary focus.

However natural therapies are not just about short term healing. They are also a form of preventative medicine aimed at balancing the body's energies and restoring well being.

Established in 1994 by Clinic Director Maya Kraus, we aim to provide a centre of excellence in Natural Health Therapies and courses. With over 30 different therapies on offer in our pleasantly located town-centre clinic we are close to Guildford High Street and the castle grounds.

Whether you are looking for help and support for a particular ailment or just want to unwind and spoil yourself with aromatherapy or a reflexology treatment, the team at Castle Street Clinic can help you.

With so many treatments to choose from it is sometimes difficult to choose. We offer a free 15 minute consultation with one of our experienced therapists to help you identify the therapy best suited to your needs – call us now on 01483 300400 to book your free consultation.

Chiropractic-Dr Chris Penter
Chiropractic has been around for the past 100 years. A gentle health profession that deals with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, and the effects of these disorders on the function of the nervous system and general health. Chiropractic care is effective in the management of headaches, low back pain, neck pain, whiplash injuries, and sports injuries as well as jaw pain. Chiropractic care is not painful, and often is used to help relaxation of the body by treating tight muscles and relieving tension within the joints of the spine through gentle manipulation. As chiropractic is a holistic treatment, dietary advice may be given, as well as advice on posture and exercises. People from all walks of life, from babies through to elderly folk will benefit greatly from chiropractic care, and it is very effective in helping mothers with the changes that take place during and after pregnancy. Dr Chris Penter is a Chiropractor and Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician
Colonic Hydrotherapy ,- Kate Fowles

Health Kinesiology - Maya Kraus
A remarkable non-intrusive technique to identify hidden toxins and emotional stress issues which can then be resolved during treatment.By testing muscles it is possible to find out what causes imbalances in the body which in turn can manifest themselves in ill health, allergies or a general malaise.
Homeopathy - Lindsey Puddifant, ,
Homeopathy is a system of medicine which involves treating the individual with highly diluted substances, given mainly in tablet form, with the aim of triggering the body’s natural system of healing. Based on their specific symptoms, a homeopath will match the most appropriate medicine to each patient.Homeopathy is based on the principle that you can treat ‘like with like’, that is, a substance which causes symptoms when taken in large doses, can be used in small amounts to treat those same symptoms. For example, drinking too much coffee can cause sleeplessness and agitation, so according to this principle, when made into a homeopathic medicine, it could be used to treat people with these symptoms. This concept is sometimes used in conventional medicine, for example, the stimulant Ritalin is used to treat patients with ADHD, or small doses of allergens such as pollen are sometimes used to de-sensitise allergic patients. However, one major difference with homeopathic medicines is that substances are used in ultra high dilutions, which makes them non-toxic.

Hypnotherapy - Richard Morley

I  help people resolve most mind related issues using a combination of Hypnosis, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP). Reflexologists work holistically with their clients and aim to work alongside allopathic healthcare to promote better health for their clients.
Rolfing - Keith Graham
Rolfing works to bring us into optimum alignment in the gravity field so that we can move with more balance and greater ease. Rolfers work with hands-on manipulation to bring space and fluidity to the fascial system, which can become gluey and restrictive through lack of movement. During the sessions, we also try to identify unhelpful movement habits which may be preventing the body from reaching its optimum balance. I give homework between each session to help change these unconscious patterns. In this way, improvements gained can be long-lasting.

Clarissa Middleton Dip. CNM BANT CNHC NNA

Clarissa has been passionate about naturopathic nutrition for 9 years having found relief from her own severe allergies. Having been told by her GP and various specialists that the only solution to her health problems was to move to the sea or abroad, Clarissa was convinced there was another way to improve her symptoms and quality of life. Naturopathic nutritional therapy involves looking at the different bodily systems as a whole and how they effectively they are operating. In order to achieve optimum health all the systems need to work synergistically. If there’s an imbalance in those systems - digestive, immune, nervous, endocrine, musculoskeletal – this will affect the body’s ability to function optimally.

She will not aim to solely alleviate symptoms, but get to the root cause of any negative health complaints, creating long lasting change and relief.
